Federiksborg Slot Hillerød
Frederiksborg is the museum of national history of Denmark. It was built as a royal residence for on the early 17th century, replacing an older castle acquired by Frederik II and becoming the largest Renaissance residence in Scandinavia. Situated on three islets in the castle lake, it is adjoined by a large formal garden in the Baroque style and romantic landscape garden. The museum also hosts special exhibitions. Since 2010 it has also hosted a censored international portrait exhibition.
The upper, northernmost part of the Baroque garden is home to Café Havehuset, a half-timbered, thatched building now used as a café. In summer, the café is open for lunch. Take your time if you go there: relaxe, lighten up, and feel back to the old times or let yourself be seduced by your dreams…
Gladly I would seduce you with my impressions of this beautiful castle and the garden.
